Made from rugged Microtomic™ ripstop material and 140 GSM (grams per square meter) Polytech fill, this lightweight jacket is just as city worthy as it is mountain made. The water-resistant shell has a zipper opening so you can access your pup’s harness to attach a leash. This dog coat is designed for athletic dogs that are going to be running, hiking and adventuring in inclement weather. Therefore, it is a more fitted coat, allowing your pup to move freely. Designed to keep the core warm and dry, the coat does not cover the entire length of most dogs.

Washing Instructions:

Please wash the Loft Jacket on cold, gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Hang to air dry.

What are hook and loop closures?  Are they Velcro?

Hook and loop closures are what most people think of as “Velcro”. “Velcro” is actually a brand, called the Velcro Companies, and they are the original manufacturer of hook and loop fasteners.

 

What are the temperature ratings for this coat? I live in Canada, in an area where it can get to -30 degrees celsius, not even accounting for windchill.

We do not have a specific temperature range recommendation for the Loft Jacket. Every dog is different in terms of their cold tolerance due to their coat, age, breed, climate in which they live etc..etc, so it is hard to make that recommendation. Many of our own dogs with various coat types were kept warm and dry in their Loft Jackets during our cold and rugged Massachusetts winters. With that said, since the Loft Jacket is a light quilted jacket, sometimes for lean dogs with very short coats or for dogs who live in very cold winter climates, it works best to layer this Jacket over a close fitting fleece type dog jacket. Can you dry the jacket in the dryer?

We do not recommend drying the Loft Jacket in the dryer. Please air dry.

 

How does this item go on the dog, and how is it secured? Looks like a Velcro stomach band with arm holes. I’d like more information.

The Loft Jacket goes on over a dog’s head, then attaches behind their front legs by Velcro. You do not need to lift or slip your dog’s legs through “arm holes” to put the jacket on. It is very easy to put on and adjust.
